Getting Around Kiev (Kyiv)

Kyiv is the city where the new and the old create excellent possibilities for cultural and aesthetical exploration. Nevertheless, before you become a visitor to this fabulous city, take some time to figure out at least 2 things: where you will spend your nights and how you are going to get around the place.

The most comfortable way of moving around is Kiev taxis. They will deliver you you from the station to wherever you are staying for no more than $35. In fact, for a foreigner, the taxi service should be reasonably inexpensive. It is a pleasure to taxi Kiev around. Nevertheless, if you do not inrend to use only taxis in Kyiv, the city has some other transport options to offer.

In the first place, it is the metro that can get you almost anywhere in the city. It is very practical when you have to travel large distances during hot hours when there are traffic jams on the roads. Second, you can use buses, trolley busses and trams. These are quite inexpensive: you pay a fixed amount to go any distance. Nevertheless, they are not very regular. Third, you could always walk around or use Kiev's unique transportation - funicular that goes up the bank of the Dnieper. At last, you can always use your feet.

Make sure you visit Kiev. This city disposes of plenty of attractions to please an aspiring tourist.
